Distances are approximate and only rank nearby team markets. They are not broadcast-area data; the networks decide which game each station airs.

How NFL Coverage Maps Work

On Sunday afternoons CBS and FOX each air several games at the same time. Each network decides which game goes to which TV market, so the game on your local channel depends on where you live. A team's games are generally shown in its home market; elsewhere the networks weigh regional interest and the matchup.

Games with a time slot to themselves — Thursday night, Sunday night, Monday night, holiday and international morning games — are standalone, so they are typically available nationwide on one network or service.

This site shows schedule-based information: the time slot, the type of window and the channels listed by our data source. It does not show the networks' market-by-market assignments, because that data isn't available from our source. Read the full explanation or how regional coverage is decided.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is an NFL coverage map?

An NFL coverage map shows which game your local TV stations are scheduled to air in each Sunday afternoon time slot. CBS and FOX each broadcast several games at the same time, so they split the country into regions and send a different game to each one. Thursday, Sunday night and Monday night games are not split this way — see nationally televised NFL games.

How are regional NFL games decided?

The networks decide each week which of their games airs in each market. A team’s games are generally shown in its home market. Elsewhere, the networks weigh things such as regional interest and the appeal of the matchup. Assignments can change during the week. More detail: how regional NFL coverage works.

How can I find my local NFL game?

Start with this week’s coverage map: the “Find your local NFL market” tool shows the team markets nearest to you and their games this week. Your local CBS and FOX stations generally carry those teams’ games. Check your station’s listings for the final assignment.

Which networks broadcast NFL games?

CBS and FOX carry most Sunday afternoon games, NBC has Sunday Night Football, ESPN and ABC have Monday Night Football, and Amazon Prime Video streams Thursday Night Football. NFL Network airs a smaller number of games. Out-of-market Sunday afternoon games are available through NFL Sunday Ticket. See NFL TV networks explained.

Does the NFL coverage map change every week?

Yes. Matchups change every week, and so does which game each region receives. Later in the season the NFL can also “flex” games into or out of primetime, which changes kickoff times and networks. Every week has its own page — see the NFL coverage map by week.

Where does this site’s schedule and TV information come from?

Schedules, scores and TV listings come from a third-party sports data provider. It is not an official NFL source, and TV listings can be incomplete, especially well before kickoff. We do not have geographic broadcast-area data, so we never claim which game a specific area receives. See About.
